NZPSHA Events and Membership Coordinator

04 June 2026 7:47 AM | Brett Jeffery, CAE (Administrator)

Looking for a flexible part-time role where you can actually own outcomes, not just coordinate tasks?
This role puts you in charge of delivering a national conference, awards programme, and member events.
We’re looking for someone who loves to deliver outstanding results.

Part-time (16 hours/week, flexible) | Wellington or remote

The New Zealand Private Surgical Hospitals Association (NZPSHA) is seeking an Events and Membership Coordinator to take ownership of our annual conference, awards programme, and member engagement activities.

This is a high-trust, flexible role suited to someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and ensure everything runs smoothly and professionally.

What you’ll be doing

You will play a key role in delivering NZPSHA’s core activities, including:

  • Leading the delivery of our annual conference, working with a professional conference organiser.
  • Coordinating the annual awards programme — entries, judging, sponsors, and Gala Dinner delivery.
  • Managing and growing our webinar programme.
  • Supporting and introducing new member events and engagement initiatives.
  • Providing a high level of member support and communication.
  • Maintaining membership records and supporting newsletters and updates.
  • Assisting with administration, including invoicing and tracking.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience delivering events to a high professional standard, with conference experience highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a focus on delivering accurate, error-free work.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Comfortable working independently in a small, high-trust environment.
  • A strong customer service mindset.

What we offer

  • A flexible, part-time role with genuine autonomy.
  • Opportunity to deliver a high-profile national conference and awards programme.
  • The ability to make a real impact on member engagement and industry connection.

Working arrangements

  • 16 hours per week, with flexible days and hours.
  • Must be available to work full-time during conference week in September.
  • Wellington-based or remote, with some travel required.

Salary

  • Equivalent to a full-time salary of $75,000–$83,000, pro-rated, plus KiwiSaver; or
  • Contractor option available at $45–$50 per hour.
