About the Conference

Associations Matter Conference & Exhibition 2026

The Associations Matter Conference & Exhibition is New Zealand’s national conference for association professionals — designed for Chief Executives, Executive Directors, senior leaders, and those responsible for governance, membership, events, and operations within membership organisations.

Held on 3–4 August 2026 at the Lower Hutt Events Centre, the conference brings together association leaders from across New Zealand to strengthen capability, share practical insight, and build meaningful professional connections.

Professionally Curated Programme

The conference content is shaped by the NZSAE Professional Development Committee — a group of experienced association leaders ensuring the programme reflects real sector priorities and practical application.

In 2025, the conference welcomed [135+] delegates from [80+] membership organisations across New Zealand. The majority of attendees were CEOs, Executive Directors and senior decision-makers.

For 2026, we anticipate continued growth, with over [150+] delegates expected.

In 2025, the exhibition featured [30+] exhibitors. Strategic Partners receive priority access to exhibition positions.

The 2026 conference will be held at the Lower Hutt Events Centre — a modern, centrally located venue designed to support both focused learning and meaningful networking. Its flexible spaces allow for plenary sessions, concurrent streams, exhibition engagement and social functions to flow seamlessly.
